On Friday night the Pitt Center echoed with fans singing along to every lyric that Goo Goo Doll's frontman, Johnny Rzeznik's sang. Students and fans from all over flooded the Pitt Center to see the Goo Goo Dolls and Augustana perform for one of two spring concerts this year.
The opening reception of the Student Art Exhibit was held Sunday, March 25, 2007 from 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. in The Gallery of Contemporary Art. The award ceremony started at 2 p.m. sharp. Professional artists, from outside of the campus community, were the judges of the students artwork.
Alumni and local native, John Ratzenberger, is one of eleven competitors performing on ABC's television series, "Dancing With The Stars." "John Ratzenberger is a proud alumnus from SHU who received an honorary doctorate in 1992," said Marie Donahue, Director of Alumni & Parent Relations.
Beta Delta Phi sorority might be the oldest running organization on campus, but their youth kept these sisters dancing the night away Mar. 21. Hosted at the Pitt Center, the second annual, "Dance for the Cure" dance-a-thon generated proceeds donated to breast cancer research.
Last Wednesday night the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts was turned into a hip-hop arena as Omega Phi Kappa and Delta Phi Kappa kicked it up a notch by steppin', strollin' and spittin' beats. Monica Concha and John Okolowitcz were the masters of ceremonies of the Phi Kappa Family Showcase.
Up and coming rock band, Aston, played at the Webster Theater in Hartford on March 24. For $10 audience members got to see Aston playing along with Halifax, Greeley Estates, Madina Cake and, Vincent Black Shadow. Aston was eager to share the stage with a national act like Halifax.
Pham Quang Sang is only three years old, he doesn't speak English and he has spent his short life thus far in Tam Binh, an orphanage in Vietnam. Pham's life changed drastically on March 14 when Oscar-winning actress and United Nation's Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina Jolie, adopted Pham as the fourth addition to her rapidly growing family.
