Habitat gains national recognition

The Sacred Heart chapter of Habitat for Humanity was recently named one of the Top Five campus chapters in the nation out of 500 others. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization with the goal of ending substandard housing.

Annual security report available to university community

Each year, Sacred Heart's Department of Public Safety issues an annual report that contains University crime statistics and an overview of security policies and procedures relating to crime awareness. In a message in the 2007 Public Safety's Annual Report, Jack Fernandez, director of Public Safety, said that the Department of Public Safety is a "service-oriented organization, which aims to provide a safe environment conducive to living, learning, and working.

Sacred Heart community supports breast cancer walk

This past Sunday, October 14, marked the annual "Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk" in Westport. Sacred Heart students joined together to raise money and walk in support of breast cancer awareness and research. The Sacred Heart team raised $2,890 on Sunday at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Brittany Maier is blind, autistic, and more accomplished than many talented musicians. On Monday, Oct. 15, the sisters of Zeta Iota Lambda sorority hosted a performance by Brittany Maier. The performance was held in the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts.

The autumn breeze chilled the air as the sun peered between the clouds. At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, however, the cold environment proved to be the last thing concerning the minds of the boys meeting on the softball field. It was the first annual Student Athlete Appreciation Day (SAAD) and it wouldn't be the last.
