Running events, participating in activities and a strong sense of leadership; Kelly Linskey has it all.

In high school, Linskey was just as cheerful and participated just as much as she does today.

"I was very involved in my high school. I've always been really outgoing and have a real zeal for life. I love people and try to be friends with everyone who brings a smile to my face," said Kelly Linskey, senior, Seal Beach, Calif.

"In high school I was class president and cheerleading captain for two years. I was on every committee possible as well as Youth Ministry at my parish."

As a senior, Linskey has accomplished much more than people can achieve in a lifetime. Events on campus most likely happen because of her involvement with SET and as an active member in student government, school decisions are something that Linskey takes part in as well.

"I have worked with Kelly in student government for four years and she has developed her leadership skills to take SET to a whole different level," said Amanda DeMatteis, senior, Hamden.

"I cannot imagine my life at Sacred Heart without being involved. I am a student government junkie. My first two years here, I was Class of 2008 Senator and I loved it very much," said Linskey.

"Serving our student body brings me a lot of joy. I have been involved with SET's executive board for all four years and have been the Vice President for SET last year and this year. It is so much fun."

Linskey has a lot of ambition and the drive to achieve it all. It all comes down to the dedication she has to giving back.

"I love giving back to a community that has given so much to me. Being 3,000 miles away from home you really have to readjust and fully submerge yourself in your environment. Student Government seemed like the best fit for me and I am so glad that I did it," said Linskey.

Her friends notice her leadership and eagerness to achieve.

"Kelly is a great friend and leader. Her enthusiasm and interest in the overall well being of the student body is evident in every event she puts on. Kelly is the type of person you can find all over campus, whether it is running an event, working in the Student Union or even cheering loudly on the sidelines," said Sara Adams, senior, Hamden.

Linskey's favorite pastime?

"Going to concerts. It is actually my favorite thing to do ever," said Linskey.

When trying to approach someone this busy, one would think she had time for nothing else, but Linskey proves that wrong.

"I try my very best to make time for my friends and family. I try to see my dad a couple times a month. When I was younger I was diagnosed with leukemia and I survived. Every day I wake up I thank God that I did just that," said Linskey.

"Life is too short to be down or negative. You only live once so you should always live well. I love making people smile. You can be laughing with me or at me and if I am bringing some sort of joy to your day, then it made my day worth living."
